Yale College student receives community award

Since 2010 PACT has recognised students at Yale College studying on the BTEC Uniformed Public Services Course who have made a significant contribution to the local community.

The Good Citizen Award is open for any uniformed public service student from the First Diploma or Extended Diploma year 1 or 2, and has been fsponsored by PACT.

The recipient must have shown the ability to work with others showing understanding and compassion; student’s behaviour in and out of college was taken into account looking at any activities that they may be involved in they would benefit others.

This year saw PC Gary Edwards and PC Paul Davies from Wrexham Community Policing team attend the Annual Presentation Evening at Yale College,  Wrexham.

They gave an award on behalf of the North Wales Police and PACT to Miss Emily Hughes, a student studying on the Course, for her community participation and good citizenship. During the year Emily has demonstrated the ability to work in harmony with fellow students and members of their community, and  is always courteous to their peers and all members of staff.

Emil, together with a number of other students, had also been involved in several fund raising activities that were undertaken in the students own time outside college hours and with college.

Well done to all the students who were recognised for all their hard work.
