The Op Bang Challenge gives children and young people across North Wales the opportunity to make a positive difference in their communities while being in with the chance of winning cash prizes for their school, club or group.
Delivered in partnership by North Wales Police and PACT (Police and Community Trust), the challenge encourages young people aged 5 to 18 to develop projects that improve community safety, wellbeing or the local environment.
As Halloween and Bonfire Night approach, the challenge aims to inspire positive action and help young people become active members of their communities.
What Could Your Project Focus On?
Projects should help improve your community in some way. Ideas could include:
- Promoting road safety during the darker winter months.
- Raising awareness of the dangers of fireworks and bonfires.
- Educating others about the impact of anti-social behaviour.
- Improving neglected or unused spaces.
- Creating campaigns that encourage community pride and respect.
- Developing safety initiatives for young people.
We’re looking for creative ideas that make a real difference to other people’s lives.
Prizes
Teams have the opportunity to win:

🥈 2nd Prize: £500
🥉 3rd Prize: £250
Additional cash prizes may also be available.

Challenge Rules
To enter the Op Bang Challenge:
- Your team must be part of an established club, group or school.
- There is no minimum or maximum team size.
- Team members can be any age between 5 and 18 years.
- More than one project may be entered from the same organisation.
- Each team must have at least one adult supervisor aged 18 or over.
- The adult supervisor must register the team on behalf of the group.
